Competitive Edge Tennis Academy

PNW Player Development Pathway

Building the Foundations for Competitive Tennis

PNW Sports & Wellness Development offers structured tennis training at the Lawson Middle School tennis courts through our approved facility use permit. Our programs are designed to help young athletes develop step-by-step through the game of tennis. Rather than rushing children too early, our coaching philosophy focuses first on building strong fundamentals, coordination, movement and confidence. As players grow, they gradually transition into more competitive training environments. This structured pathway allows young players to develop naturally into confident and disciplined junior athletes.

Recreational tennis introduces the game. PNW develops the player.

PNW Competitive Edge Tennis Academy is designed for players who are ready to move beyond recreational tennis and commit to real development, competition, and long-term growth.

This is not a drop-in program.

This is a structured pathway for athletes who want to improve, compete, and build confidence through discipline and training.

To determine the right placement for your child, please contact Coach Elsio directly.

Each player is evaluated to ensure they are placed in the appropriate stage of development based on skill level, coordination, and readiness for progression.

Who This Program is For

Stage 1: Beginner Foundations

1st-2nd Grade | 8U Development

Our youngest players begin by learning the foundations of tennis through fun, engaging training that focuses on coordination, balance, and basic stroke development.

At this stage players learn: proper swing fundamentals, hand-eye coordination, movement and balance, rally basics, court awareness and scoring

The goal of this stage is to help children build confidence and love for the sport while developing the core skills needed for future growth.

Fridays, 5:00-6:00pm

Sundays, 10:30-11:00am
Lawson Middle School

Stage 2: Development & Early Competition

3rd-5th Grade | 10U Competition Training

As players progress, training becomes more structured and begins introducing competitive elements while continuing to reinforce strong technical foundations.

Players begin developing: rally ball consistency, court movement and footwork, competitive drills and match play, early tactical thinking and conditioning and mental toughness.

This stage helps players develop the discipline and athletic habits that allow them to begin competing and preparing for higher levels of tennis.

With strong coaching and consistent training, many players at this stage begin developing into competitive junior athletes ready for the next phase of training.

PNW Family Commitment & Loyalty Program

PNW Sports & Wellness Development is committed to providing a structured, high-integrity tennis environment for every player and family we serve. Our programs operate under fixed facility commitments and coaching allocations, so consistent monthly enrollment helps us protect court access, staffing, and program quality for the whole community.

PNW’s Loyalty Program is designed to support families who consistently invest in their child’s development while helping us meet our ongoing facility commitments. There is no fee to join and families automatically become Loyalty Members after one regular month of enrollment.

As part of our community model, Loyalty Families are asked to support our Annual Winter and Spring Fundraisers, which help offset the significant discounts provided throughout the year and sustain our long-term commitment to the district and coaching staff.

PNW Loyalty Program – Updated Policy

At PNW Competitive Edge Tennis Academy, our Loyalty Program is designed to reward committed families who support the growth of our community and programs. To ensure fairness and sustainability for all, we are clarifying the structure of our program:

Program Enrollment

  • All new players must complete one full month at regular price to join the PNW Loyalty Program.

  • After the first month, families become eligible for Loyalty Program benefits.

Junior Weekly Programming Discounts

(After initial month enrollment. Must register during the 21st–23rd monthly window.)

Our Early Registration Model rewards commitment and consistency:

  • 10% Discount – 1 Day per Week

  • 4-Pack – 10% Discount

  • 8-Pack – 20% Discount

  • 12-Pack – 30% Discount

Important Policy Clarification

The PNW Loyalty Program is built on mutual respect, fairness, and community support.

To protect families who participate fully and support the program:

  • Discounts are earned through commitment and early registration, not extended retroactively.

  • The program is not designed for selective participation or misuse of discounts.

  • PNW reserves the right to adjust or remove discounts where policies are not being followed.

Our Commitment

PNW continues to invest in:

  • High-quality coaching

  • Structured player development pathways

  • Access to facilities despite rising operational costs

This program ensures we can continue serving families who are aligned with our mission and values.

Missed Class Policy (Make-Up Options)

We understand that occasional absences happen due to illness, school events, and family travel.

If a player misses a class, they may choose one of the following make-up options:

  • drop into another appropriate class within the same month (space permitting), or

  • schedule a 1:1 private session as a make-up option

Please note: Missed classes are not applied as credits toward future monthly tuition. Monthly tuition secures your player’s reserved court space and coaching allocation for that month.

For questions about placement, make-ups, or Loyalty benefits, please contact Coach Elsio or the PNW team.
